Planting

Start by finding an area around your home that is partially sunny for best results.

For new plantings, dig a hole one and a half times wider than your Dogwood’s shipped container. Place your plant in the hole, ensuring that you keep the top of the root ball at ground level. Then, back fill your new hole with dirt.

After planting, water your Dogwood thoroughly and mulch around its base to conserve moisture and reduce weeds.

Watering

To encourage proper growth, water your new Dogwood plantings more frequently – newly-planted trees require more watering than established items. Wind, temperature and soil are also factors to consider in watering.
